Five powerhouse musicians bring some of the world’s most famous songs to life on the Cabaret stage and tell the stories behind their creation. A concert-style celebration of the greatest hit-makers from 1960’s to today, Five on Fire features music from Dolly Parton, Joni Mitchell, Aretha Franklin, Carole King, Carly Simon, Nina Simone, Stevie Nicks, Gloria Estefan, and many other influential women of song.

“Five on Fire,” which opened April 14 and runs through June 4 at the Cabaret, is a world premiere. But it moves so smoothly and efficiently that it feels like a musical that worked out the kinks in previous runs. Unusual for a first-ever show, “Fire” is a production that should move on to future venues. Complimenting the performances, “Fire” also burns hot because of its staging, lighting and choreography.
This show pops and sizzles, and the hits (literally) keep on coming, interspersed with interesting and little-known factoids about the artists.
