Backwards in High Heels

The Oregon Cabaret Theatre celebrates movie legend Ginger Rogers in their fall show entitled, Backwards in High Heels the Ginger Musical. This intimate musical is a story of a small-town girl from Texas who dazzled the whole wide world, playing everything from "the girl next door" to the modern woman with a mind of her own. It's a spectacular candy box of show-stopping dance numbers, great songs, and some surprising revelations about a movie legend.

"Put it all on Craig Hudson's fabulous, vintage stage and you have a lavish spectacle with a surprising bit of depth."

Backwards in High Heels: The Ginger Rogers Musical

Ginger Rogers danced her way into our hearts in the arms of Fred Astaire, setting the gold standard for grace and elegance on the silver screen. In her surprising true-life story, we follow her from the vaudeville stage at the age of fifteen through her ascension to Hollywood goddess. The music of Backwards in High Heels reflects that era of early movie making. With such classics as Let's call the Whole Thing Off, I've Got Rhythm, We're in the Money, Let's Face the Music and Dance, Baby Face, and Fascinating Rhythm, the production is enhanced by original songs as well.
