Join Us for Our Fabulous 40th Season!

It’s hard to believe that our next season marks the 40th in the Cabaret’s storied history, and my 11th since taking the reins from longtime artistic director Jim Giancarlo. The years we’ve been in Southern Oregon creating theatre have flown by - my daughter has gone from being a second grader at Helman Elementary to graduating from Ashland High School this upcoming year, and our Cabaret has grown from 23,000 tickets sold annually to nearly 40,000 in 2024.

On the precipice of this milestone season, I’m reminded of that whirlwind of a time it was when Rick and I took over. We were struck immediately by how important the Cabaret was to Southern Oregon and we were determined to make sure it endured not just into its 40th season, but well beyond that, so that the community would have a place to take first dates, and celebrate anniversaries and gather for small family reunions over the holidays for generations to come. The long history of the Cabaret has been written by Jim Giancarlo and Craig Hudson, and many great artists over the years, and, hopefully, will continue to be written long after we’ve passed the torch to other capable hands many years from now.

Our 40th season is a celebration, a line-up of gut-busting and heartfelt pieces that you’ve come to expect from us. A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder has been slaying audiences since its Tony-winning debut on Broadway in 2014. We’re the first professional company in Oregon to get the rights to do Waitress, a musical about living your dreams that fits hand-in-glove in our intimate dinner theatre. Next is our summer show, Disaster!, a comedic musical mash-up of 70s chart toppers, disco, and disaster movies like the Poseidon Adventure, followed by Murder for Two, where two virtuoso piano-playing actors try to get to the bottom of a mystery where everyone is a suspect. We finish the year with another Cabaret original, The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, a ballet-free re-telling of the E.T.A. Hoffman fairy tale, with six actors, puppets, live music and all the charm you’ve come to expect from a Cabaret holiday show.

Our 40th Season promises to be a celebration of not just the Cabaret’s past, but also its bright future!

Subscriptions FAQ

Have your prices changed?

Yes. Our ticket prices have increased, so our subscription are also going up in 2025 to meet due to rising production costs. Matinee and VIP subscriptions are $4 more expensive in 2025 than they were in 2024 and the Mini is $9 more.

You could, because we'd like to keep you as a subscriber, but the V.I.P. subscription is only slightly more than three 'A price' weekend tickets purchased individually.
