The Cabaret was built for its audience.

It’s a space made for laughter, music, good food, tables packed with people enjoying the show and each other’s company - and of all the things we missed during the height of the pandemic, we felt the absence of our audiences most acutely.

Both Rick and I are often stopped in town and told how glad people are that we have kept the Cabaret open during the turmoil of the past few years, and while we appreciate the kind words, we know the reason for our perseverance is you - our audience. We asked you to keep subscribing in uncertain times, and you did. We asked you to take account credits rather than the offered refunds for tickets, and you did. And when we re-opened our doors and invited you back into the old pink church, you came.

Our 2023 season is a celebration of the relationship between artist and audience. We will tell stories about communities uniting, perseverance through uncertain times and finding joy in strife. We promise a season filled with all of the laughter, song, and rich storytelling that you’ve come to expect sitting at your familiar table in our familiar space.

Our 38th season opens in February with the determined players of the Cornley University Drama Society, who persevere against all odds to make it to their final curtain call in The Play That Goes Wrong. Our second show,  Five on Fire: Groundbreaking Women of Song, features the incredible songs of music’s most beloved female singers and songwriters. Our big summer musical, Kinky Boots, will once again shatter a Cabaret record for largest cast size with sixteen performers. Powered by Cyndi Lauper songs, it tells the story of Charlie, a young man desperately trying to save the community’s shoe factory, as he opens his heart and mind to find love, friendship, and success. Our fall show features the return of a Cabaret audience favortie - detective Hercule Poirot, who vows to unearth all of a small community’s buried secrets in Poirot: The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. And our holiday show, Christmas at the Prime Rib Playhouse brings all the music, outrageous farce, and holiday cheer you can handle as fish-out-of-water actor Joel Kneedler makes his auspicious debut as a company member at the struggling Prime Rib Playhouse.

Thank you for your support of the Cabaret over the years and please join us as we continue to dream big and persevere in 2023.
