Join us for our unforgettable 2021 Season!

2020 was a tough year. A pandemic. A devastating fire. We trace the scars of these events in our community through the blackened trees and scorched earth along the greenway, through lives we’ve lost and longtime businesses shuttered.

We have faith in the resilience of this community. We will do everything in our power to keep the Cabaret going strong so that in the years to come people can sit under the chandelier and experience the joy of live theatre.

Our 2021 season celebrates hope and resilience.

In the musical The Spitfire Grill, the people of declining Gilead, Wisconsin rally around a newcomer’s plan to save the beating heart of the town - its local diner. Longtime residents of Armadillo acres, toll booth worker Norbert and his Dr. Phil–loving, agoraphobic wife Jeannie hope for better days ahead in The Great American Trailer Park Musical. Buddy: The Music of Buddy Holly celebrates the short life of the famous rock n’ roller and the music of all of those lost in that 1959 plane crash. A family rocked by murder hopes for help from famed investigator Hercule Poirot, only to suffer a second murder not long after his arrival in Poirot: Murder on the Links. And in our world premiere holiday show Christmas, Contigo, a young woman brings her new fiance home to her eccentric Cuban family, a resilient clan with unique Christmas traditions.

We look forward to better days and welcoming you through our doors for our 36th season!

Our 2021 Season Shows:

The Spitfire Grill

February 26th - April 18th, 2021

This will be a brand new, Oregon Cabaret take on the hit musical, with the cast playing their own instruments as an onstage orchestra! Percy, a parolee just released from prison, arrives in a small town in Wisconsin and finds a place for herself working at Hannah’s Spitfire Grill, the only eatery in a struggling town. It is for sale but there are no takers, so newcomer Percy suggests to Hannah that she raffle it off. Entry fees are one hundred dollars and the best essay on why you want the grill wins. A heartfelt musical about healing the wounds of the past and finding your chosen family.

The Great American Trailer Park Musical

April 29th - June 20th, 2021

There’s a new tenant at Armadillo Acres - and she’s wreaking havoc all over Florida’s most exclusive trailer park. When Pippi, the stripper on the run, comes between the Dr. Phil–loving, agoraphobic Jeannie and her tollbooth collector husband—the storms begin to brew. Filled to the brim with irreverent comedy and show stopping musical numbers like “This Side of the Tracks”, “Flushed Down the Pipes”, and “Storms A Brewin”

Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story

July 1st - September 5th

Buddy Holly’s brief life is immortalized in this dynamic and heart-rending stage show. Set between 1956 and 1959, Buddy traces Buddy’s early rise to fame with the Crickets to that fateful night when the music died. Featuring hit songs from the era like “That’ll be the Day”, “Peggy Sue”, “La Bamba”, and “Johnny B. Goode”, Buddy celebrates the lives lost on that fateful night and the lasting impact they had on Rock N’ Roll.

Poirot: Murder on the Links

September 16th - November 7th

Based on Agatha Christie’s thrilling mystery, Murder on the Links features famous Belgian detective Hercule Poirot and his friend Captain Hastings. Poirot arrives in France to find his client brutally murdered and lying face down in a shallow grave on a golf course. But why is the dead man wearing an overcoat that is too big for him? And for whom was the impassioned love letter in the pocket? Before Poirot can answer these questions, the case is turned upside down by the discovery of a second, identically murdered corpse.

Christmas, Contigo

November 18th – December 31st, 2021

The lechón is roasting, the yuca bubbles and the flan is steaming in the oven, all the trappings of Noche Buena! For Iris Delgado Piñeira it means the trip back to her family home in Hialeah, except this year she’s bringing a surprise, her boyfriend and soon to be fiancé, Bryan, to meet her parents and her aging Abuela.
